Book Review: Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros

rating: 4/5 stars

synopsis:

Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders.

thoughts:

this book was a whooole lot of fun! i went into this with very low expectations because of all the hype it was getting, but i can see where the obsession lies haha. i did find some parts to be pretty cringe (i.e. the romance, and even the way they interacted with the dragons), but i can totally see the charm in it all. i was really looking to the enemies to lovers trope, which was there but it didn’t hit as much as i wanted it to!

the world building was interesting, and so was the storyline! i just flew through the whole thing. critic it as you will, but you can’t deny how fun it all was! i haven’t been this engrossed with a book in a while, so i was very pleasantly surprised indeed :) i’m excited to red the sequel (after that ending?!). i was told that i should wait and see when the third book comes out so i don’t get too caught up waiting for it when i finish iron flame :’) which is fair reasoning haha. if you’re looking for a fast-paced, veryyyy fun, very thrilling fantasy book with dragons, i highlyyy recommend fourth wing!
