The Aussie Book Tag!

I never knew this book tag existed until I saw it on Jananee's book blog! I'm not Australia but I am studying there at the moment, plus the questions look so much fun to do so why not? ;)

1) A character you want to cuddle all day long

(credits to sincerelyhecate on tumblr for this gorgeous fan art! <3 )

Most probably Scorpius Malfoy from Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. He's such a cinnamon roll; so precious and harmless <3 I want to protect him from the world :')

2. A book you love that everyone else hates

30367320

Stealing Snow by Danielle M. Paige. I didn't exactly love the book and it isn't hated either but I thought it deserved more love. Yes it has its flaws but it really wasn't bad at all! I'm hoping the series gets better though. Nonetheless, I'm really excited for the second book! I have a review of Stealing Snow here if you want to check it out!

3. Fave fictional squad

17742555-_sy540_

The ACOMAF Night Court takes the win, hands down. They're badass, full of mischief, funny and awesome. If I were part of the night court, these guys are my go-to rooftop party buddies. ;) If you'd like to read my ACOMAF review, click here! (spoiler free)

4. Most recent 5-star read

185848551

I love the feeling of liking the book only after 5 pages in. Heartless was it for me. And it's my first read of the year too! Bonus! I'm still a sobbing mess after reading this but guys, it's Marissa Meyer. Her books are always a good idea (even if her stories are a pain to get through </3 ) My review of Heartless can be found here :)

5. Fave book by an author from your country

I have two answers for this book - one from an Australian author and another from an Indonesian author :)

23395680

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff is amaaazing. It's full of crazy space adventures and the story is told through a series of documents, interviews and chat messengers and it's an epic ride through and through!

251056521

I've only ever read one english book that's by an Indonesian author, and what an amazing read it was. My Lea is an angsty new adult book that will literally tear your heart into pieces <//3 I'm so, so proud of E. Mellyberry for being able to write about such bold topics while still being able to execute the story flawlessly. <3

6. A book you like to look at, but it physically hurts to read

27362503

I would have gone with Heartless instead but I really don't likw going back to the same book ^^' and besides, It Ends With Us has that same effect. This cover is just all sorts of beauty. But the story? Painful. Heartbreaking. A stab in the chest. did I mention painful? Lord. This was so hard to read.. <//3 (but I really enjoyed it  )

7. A book that is really grim, but an iconic must-read

16299

Definitely Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None. It's creepy, dark and thrilling. Agatha Christie is often given the title Queen of Mysteries and I totally agree despite the fact that this has only been my first book by her (so far). Highly recommended! Here's my review if you're interested!

8. A book that had you gaping in awe

3

Ahh I love the first book in the Harry Potter series. It's always sooo magical. Hogwarts, 9 3/4, Diagon Alley, everything. I didn't read this as a kid or anything, but I was definitely in awe of the writing, the world and he characters. Just goes to show how magical the Harry Potter stories really are <3

9. A light and fluffy book that you can't help but love

9627755

It's been a while since I've picked up a light, fluffy contemporary. Lately I've been so into angst that the word 'happy' just rarely ever comes to mind anymore xD Still though, Isla and The Happily Ever After is the cutest book I've read. Ever. Out of the Anna and The French Kiss series, this one's my favorite. I mean, look at that cover! It makes me want to frame it because of how gorgeous and cute it is <3

10. A genre/author you reach for to get you out of your reading slump

17867262

*screams* NEW ADULT BOOOOOKS <3 Definitely the easiest thing to get me out of a reading slump. I don't really have a go-to author since I'd have most probably read all the books by an author I love, and besides I don't usually re-read books, so I find new ones to devour, and they always work! <3

I hope you guys enjoyed reading this post! Anyone is free to do this tag, Aussie or not! <3

Have a great day everyone :)
